Scientific Editor
Overview As a scientific editor, I bring a depth of expertise in overseeing the development of specialized issues in biomedical research. Currently, I am the Guest Editor for Biomedicines, where I am curating a special issue on fibrosis in cardiomyopathies. Additionally, I serve as a Section Editor for Journal of CNS and Neurological Disorders-Drug Targets, managing the curation of three special issues focused on emerging topics in neuroscience. My peer-review contributions span over more than 20 articles for prestigious journals, ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity and rigor.
Creative Editor
Overview As a creative editor, I have overseen the development of educational and literary projects, such as A Handbook for the Leader Dog, which provides practical advice for dog owners. My editorial work ensures clarity, engagement, and alignment with the intended audience, shaping content that is both informative and captivating.
Translator
Overview My translation work spans a diverse array of literary genres, from poetry to psychological studies. I have translated notable works such as Elizabeth Bishop’s iconic poem “One Art” and Stanley Milgram’s “Experiment,” making these significant texts accessible to Turkish readers. My translations are known for their attention to nuance and faithful representation of the original works’ intent.
Mechanobiology
Cancer Cell Growth Stalled by Low-Intensity Forces β-Catenin’s Role in Force Sensing Revealed Vibrational Therapy is A New Hope for Bone Health LaminA/C Knockdown: Boosting Fat Cells, Retaining Mechanics Overview My work in mechanobiology focuses on how mechanical forces influence cellular behavior, particularly in the context of bone regeneration, cancer, and stem cell differentiation. I have studied how the cytoskeleton and nuclear connections mediate mechanical signaling and how these signals affect cell fate decisions, including adipogenesis and tumor suppression. By understanding these mechanotransduction pathways, my research aims to develop new therapeutic approaches for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Cardiovascular Research
β-Catenin: Friend or Foe in Heart Disease PANoptosis Unveiled in Cardiomyopathy Gene Deletion Reveals Causes of Cardiomyopathy WNT Pathway: Master Controller of Cell Life Overview My cardiovascular research explores the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiomyopathies, with a specific focus on genetic factors such as β-catenin and desmoplakin. I have investigated the roles of these molecules in cell cycle regulation, mitochondrial function, and cell death processes, like PANoptosis, in the heart. This research is directed toward identifying therapeutic targets and strategies to treat or prevent heart failure and other relevant conditions.
Inflammation
Nature’s Shield Against Inflammation Microglial Inflammation’s New Adversary Powerhouse Protector Against Inflammatory Diseases Natural Inhibitors of Harmful Inflammation Overview My research in inflammation is centered on the mechanisms of inflammasome activation, particularly the NLRP3 inflammasome, and its role in chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. I have examined how various compounds, including phytochemicals and sulforaphane, modulate inflammatory pathways and prevent disease progression. This work aims to uncover novel anti-inflammatory strategies that can be applied to both neurodegenerative and systemic diseases.
